3) duplicate phone notifications - when my grill gets “up to temp” I’m often bombarded with the “up to temp” message with two of them coming in every 30 seconds for infinity.
#Iphone app chef manual
Requiring multiple power cycles of the grill and manual attempts of connecting to BT under the settings area of the phone. For me, even standing right in front of it, it often will not connect, even over BT. 1) when you close and open the app there is a fairly long “connection” time before the grill details are displayed (temps) 2) if it connects at all. I know they will work the bugs out of the app and Wi-Fi controller - but, for me, it’s not there yet. I’d marry the grill if I could, even if my mother-in-law would be the app. I’m a smoking hero in my circle ha ha! 😎 (Could be a great item to include Camp Chef!) Great value and highly recommend this pellet grill. Highly recommend the optional front shelf too as there isn’t much shelf space without it. Easy clean out, an easy slide handle on the diffuser, big pellet bin that flows well and is super easy to change pellet flavors, good side burner options (I have the sear burner and LOVE reverse searing some steaks at 900 degrees!) BIG surface area! So nice not to be limited by space. This is loaded with well thought out features. It would be nice to have a temp alarm, but I have a separate one already so if I need it I’ll use that. Love the 4 probes however, and realistically never use more than 2 anyway. More of a temperature monitor than anything. The only criticism I have is the app is pretty vanilla. Right of the bat, this was going to be a 4 star review at first, but this smoker is too good NOT to be a 5. Love it! So many well thought out features! The alarms are great for when you are busy preparing other foods or get distracted. You can label probes and use the default temps or set your own. There are helpful features like temp goals for each probe, timers and other great features. Since my first review, the app has been greatly improved upon.
#Iphone app chef update
This is something Camp Chef needs to include in the update instructions. You may need to restart the grill again after pairing. Once it’s found, enter the PIN number the grill displays then set up the WiFi again. Restart the grill, then open up the app on your device and search for the grill. After the update, you need to have the grill reset it’s settings, then go to each device you have connected to the grill and go into the blue tooth settings and “forget” the grill. Why not have an option to ignore update until later? After latest update, app gets stuck on “continue”. Why does it want to update in the middle of a cook? Can’t use app because it wants to update.

Use the app to connect your Camp Chef pellet grill to your local WIFI network, pair with Bluetooth, and more. Explore topics such as grill maintenance and care, optimal cook temperatures for certain meats, and much more!
